Posters
This page is a collection of posters I created in my poster design class with Scott Laserow. The class consisted of five posters: biodiversity, event, theater, & movie.
Earths Don’t Grow On Trees
This biodiversity poster was inspired by the idea that we only have one chance with this earth and we need to start changing our ways to save it. The style was inspired by Shel Silverstein's illustrations and their simplicity. My goal was to create a soft poster that conveyed a loud message.
Dean Martin: L’ Amore Tour
This event poster was inspired by Dean Martin’s song “That’s Amore”, specifically the line “when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that’s amore”. I took inspiration from old Italian Cappiello posters because I wanted the poster to have a vintage Italian feeling to it, the same feeling one might get when they listen to Dean Martin.
HAIR: The American Tribal
Love-Rock Musical
This theater poster represents the anti-war message in HAIR by showing beautiful flowers blossoming out of a military helmet. The style was inspired by old matchbook covers. The hand-done HAIR type is reminiscent of 60s typography.
Fargo
The idea for this movie poster was inspired by the gun that was used by the character Marge. There is also hidden imagery within the gun that represents the fact that Marge was pregnant throughout the movie, and I thought this was significant. She just happens to be pregnant, it has nothing to do with the plot and it doesn’t affect her ability to do her job, and I really respect that.
