The Gamble House catalogue stemmed from a project that was meant to showcase a designer or design group from a specific category. I chose to showcase the work of architects and interior designers Charles and Henry Greene, better known as Greene & Greene. The brothers were known for their unique houses and bungalows that they designed during the American Arts and Crafts movement in the early 1900s. Their most famous was the gorgeous Gamble House, the centrepiece of this catalogue.

Style Inspiration

From the typography to the rounded photos, the style of this catalogue takes inspiration from the work and concepts of Greene & Greene. Arpona, a unique typeface with small wedge serifs used in the headers and larger typographic elements, emulates the ideas behind their work and the American Arts and Crafts movement. The rounded elements of the catalogue take from the rounded corners of the furniture designed by the Greene brothers. Every element is thoughtfully made and inspired by the architects behind the Gamble House.
